Manulife Singapore Clinches Inspire Award at the Prestigious Institute of Banking and Finance Awards 2021

SINGAPORE – Manulife Singapore took home the Inspire Award at the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) Awards 2021, celebrated annually to recognise excellence within Singapore’s financial industry. The Inspire Award is a nod to financial institutions that have committed to and driven considerable progress in workplace transformation, and was conferred to Manulife Singapore for its tangible efforts and ongoing dedication in building up a future-ready workforce.

Angie Ng, Chief Human Resources Officer at Manulife Singapore said, “We are proud to receive this award on behalf of all our colleagues at Manulife Singapore, and are honoured to be in the ranks of outstanding industry professionals and organisations that have and continue to raise sector standards. We are fully supportive of the IBF programme and remain committed to life-long learning and development of a future-ready workforce.”

“This award is a testament to Manulife Singapore’s single-minded focus on skills development for cultivating future-ready talent, to achieve the purpose of helping customers live every day better. We are committed to continue investment in our workforce, which I believe is critical to fuelling our ambition to be the world’s leading digital, customer-centric financial organisation.”

The Inspire Awards recognises the significant strides that Manulife Singapore has made in workforce transformation over the past year, starting with the launch of its global learning & development programme, PURSUIT. It encompasses a broad portfolio of skills-based initiatives for employees’ preparation for the workforce of the future, and was further complemented by the Learning Fiesta webinar series on future skills which featured more than 30 experts, including those from IBF. We had over 300 participants, who collectively clocked over 3,000 training hours across all Learning Fiesta sessions.

The Award also celebrates Manulife Singapore’s ongoing support of the national reskilling agenda, seen through its commitment to recruit mid-career switchers and fresh graduates. Additionally, Manulife Singapore actively collaborates with government and industry partners to upskill employees, including its heavy involvement in the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore’s Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS). At end-October 2021, over 700 new distribution representatives from Manulife were IBF-certified in Financial Planning Level 1.

Our culture of learning permeates Manulife globally; through it, we innovate, change and advance to make every day better for our customers, employees, and shareholders.
